Day13 (bad number), Thursday, October 4, 8:30 am, Hardin, Montana,

Up at the crack of dawn this morning, or what i assumed was dawn, it was so dark outside with the low, dark cloud ceiling. Cold, windy and light sprinkles. But It was toasty warm in our Northface VE 25 tent last night and the two of us sleep like bears, soundly, but hungry. The poor couple that moved in next to us last night cut out early, probably because they had a summer tent with a full ventilation roof. The money they saved by buying the less expensive summer tent will now be spent on hotel rooms.

We will be on our way to Yellowstone in a few minutes, 203 miles away. If the camps are full, we will camp outside the park. The disadvantage of camping in the park is you have to store all your food in bear lockers, and they might be too small for my food supplies, and i don't want a repeat of Lake Tahoe in 2014 when a big black bear tried to get on my roof rack to get to my food container. Fortunately, my trusty whistle solved the problem better than bear spray.

The road beckons.
